The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region.
An Inspiring Evening at TiE Germany
Yesterday, TiE Germany hosted a memorable book release and panel discussion, bringing together entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, professionals, and students for an evening of inspiration, learning, and meaningful connections.
We were honoured to launch Kanwal Rekhi‘a The Ground Breaker and Yogesh Sharma’s The Slim Elephant.
Kanwal Rekhi, one of the founding members of TiE Global in Silicon Valley, shared his remarkable entrepreneurial journey, filled with resilience, courage, and wisdom. His most powerful message to the audience was simple yet profound: Never give up. Failures are lessons, and persistence is what ultimately shapes successful entrepreneurs.
Yogesh Sharma presented insights from The Slim Elephant, highlighting how AI is transforming businesses, industries, and daily life. His message was clear: in the current AI-driven world, we must recognise change early, adapt continuously, and prepare for a future where AI will reshape decision-making, productivity, and competitiveness.
We were privileged to welcome Consul Mr. Saurabh Singh, representing the Consulate General of India, Frankfurt, who addressed the audience and spoke about innovation, entrepreneurship, and strengthening India–Germany collaboration.
The AI panel discussion featured Markus Hill , Axel Angeli, and MrityunJOY SAMADDAR and was expertly moderated by Siddharth Bhasin. The discussion explored AI’s impact on everyday life, business, and the future. The Q&A session was highly engaging, with valuable contributions from the audience.
A special mention goes to Mr. Debjit D. (Debu), who shared his experience of building Infosys in Germany from the ground up and his journey as an industry leader, mentor, and startup investor. Klaus Rössler, an AI expert, also raised thought-provoking questions that led to a phenomenal interaction with the panel.
Our Past President David S. Gower beautifully explained the values of TiE and how members can benefit from this global ecosystem of mentoring, networking, education, funding, and giving back.
The networking session was another highlight, with Kanwal Rekhi and Yogesh Sharma signing books and engaging personally with attendees. The evening continued with a networking dinner at the prestigious Taj Hotel Hessischer Hof, creating a wonderful opportunity to know each other better and build stronger connections.
My sincere thanks to our Executive Director Manjiri Kirloskar, and TiE Students Desmond Dsouza and Ozan Cinar, for their excellent support in organising the event.

A proud moment as a strong delegation from TiE Germany participated in the TiE Global Summit (TGS) in Jaipur. Our contingent included 10 Charter Members along with 2 TiE U pitchers, representing the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and global entrepreneurship.

TiE U 2023/2024 Pitch Program
The 2023-2024 TiE University Program in Germany culminates with an exciting pitch event scheduled for March 15th. This event serves as a platform for student entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative ideas and ventures to a panel of judges, investors, and fellow peers.
Not only does the pitch event provide a stage for students to gain exposure and feedback on their ventures, but it also offers networking opportunities with potential collaborators, mentors, and investors. Additionally, finalists may have the chance to secure funding, mentorship, or other resources to further develop and grow their startups

TiE Germany and AsiaBerlin invite you to a broadcasting event on the “Go to Market Strategy for Germany from an Indian perspective”. It will take place on Dec. 2nd. 2021 at 10 a.m. CET or 2.30 p.m. IST and will take approximately 90 minutes.
